An Exciting Mountain Health Retreat
Almost 16 years we had not been to Sydney, Australia. Lovely memories as we celebrated our Valentine Day in a Boat Cruise with Cabaret show and a beautiful seafood dinner! We ate & be merry as we know the next 8 days in Bellbrook, Port Macquarie will be purely vegetarian, no coffee, no tea & lots of exercises!!
It had been for me a gruelling time waking up at 6am, drinking our supplements & off to the torturous early mountain walks! Surprisingly I survived a daily 1-1/2hr walk daily! These exercises were easy for my dear husband! Most of the time he was turning back and pushing me to hurry up!! I love the different mountain landscapes, trees, herbs and flowers and the birds too. This place is very beautiful.
The rest of the days are rigidly marked with activities from health lectures, videos, lessons on how to make our own poultices to apply over pains, bumps, inflammations and had spas, massages and dips in the cold creek. Like clockwork, 3 -4x a day we were taking our nutritional supplements which were carefully planned differently for each of us to take for optimum performance and recovery. All of us had 3 days of detoxification with healthy liquids and surprisingly we were not hungry and on the 4th day onwards, we were gulping down all the delicious green leafy vegetables, legumes, avocados, carrots, cabbages & fruits. Dinners at 6pm were light & lights off by 9pm. We slept like a baby after all those activities.
Their elderly staff are very healthy, sprightly and cheerful possibly due to the fresh mountain air and they are exercising much as they walk miles up and down the mountains carrying food and clean towels daily. I truly envy their energy level as we in Singapore live comfortable and sedentary lives! This is about time we must make a change and we intend to bring back the knowledge and wonderful experience of living a healthier lifestyle to Singapore! I must admit it is kind of hard knowing Singapore is a food paradise 🙂
